The world has been waiting for the new Version of Windows, Windows 10, with bated breath. And on July 29, 2015, we’ll finally see it unveiled fully. But we thought it would be fun to give you a glimpse into the exciting new features offered by Windows 10 to make your waiting period worth it.

Start Menu

The return of the start menu is probably one of the coolest features of Windows 10. The decision to take out the start menu with Windows 8 was met with general outcry, and listening to their users, Microsoft has not only returned it with Windows 10, but they have also combined the features of the start menu of Windows 7 with some functions of Windows 8. The menu features a board with live tiles where you can also drag all your shortcuts. Though you don’t have to be stuck with the live tiles, you can turn off the feature very easily.

Action Center Notifications

While in most instances, pop-up messages are a nuisance, this feature of Windows 10 almost makes them look cool. The important information appears on the screen and is stacked neatly. This feature can clearly be seen in the image above. From there, you can tackle them as you please.

Browser: Project Spartan

Are you ready to pass over Internet Explorer in favor of a brand new and super cool browser? If you are, then get ready to welcome Microsoft’s new browser called Project Spartan. The browser was specially designed with the modern web in mind. Project Spartan claims to be faster and sleeker than any other browser available. But if you are still emotionally attached to the Internet Explorer, have no fear. It’s not gone and can still be found in Windows 10.

Virtual Desktop

If you are a Mac or Linux user, or have used them in the past, then you probably already know all about the virtual desktop offered by both. And if you have no idea about it then you will once you get Windows 10. The Virtual Desktop helps you to easily manage and arrange multiple programs at the same time. You can easily find this feature in the task bar.

Cortana

If you loved Cortana on Windows 8 then you would be happy to know that this feature is also being offered with Windows 10. Cortana, also called the super assistant, can provide you with any type of online information with any text or voice commands. Cortana uses your private information to customize the OS according to your preferences. Though, glitches were found with Cortana in the trial version of Windows 10, the developers are sure that they will be removed once the OS is ready for launch.
