Explorer.exe is an integral process of all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. Explorer.exe AKA Windows Explorer is used to browse files and folders in Microsoft Windows. Microsoft first developed explorer.exe with the release of Windows 95. This introduced a new browsing mode, where individual folders would open a window that shows its contents in a spatial file manager style.
